Wilbert Manley Allen, 92, Attica native and philanthropist, died Wednesday April 8, 1970 in Peterson Place for Convalescent, Wheeling ,W Va. He formerly resided at Aiken Ridge St, Clairsville, Ohio. Mr. Allen founded the Sterling Remedy Co in Attica prior to moving to Wheeling in 1909. He also started several other drug companies in various states. He was past director of Attica Central National Bank & Trust, past president of Belmont Hills Country Club and past member of Wheeling Elks Lodge 29. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville and Ft. Henry Club in Wheeling. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Betty Hall of California. The body will be returned to Attica.
